The incredible backdrop to the performance is Arjuna's Penance, which is a portion of the temple complex we had visited that afternoon. It depicts the story of the creation of the Ganges River. In addition to the dancers, as the sun set, a number of goats climbed out onto the ledges of the temple and found places to sleep.
